Colorado Style’s® fine leather is the material of choice for covering desks, library tables, card and game tables. It is rich-looking and durable like the furniture made by master cabinetmakers of the 18th century, our leather-covered pieces are worked to perfection. Leather coverings are hand-tooled, using techniques first developed by bookbinders. Wheeled brass tools are heated and rolled across leather to emboss the surface with intricate, charming designs that are glazed or decorated with gold leaf pressed into the imprints.
Fine leather is also inlaid in decorative accessories, such as book boxes, faux books and occasional furniture pieces. The pieces of leather are hand-laid, trimmed, colored, and padded to bring out the natural beauty of the leather. They are antiqued and tooled to enhance their surface appeal. As a final step, each piece is lacquered for long-lasting durability.
