 Our inventory of exquisite, hand-crafted lamps is a cornucopia of styles and materials, including wood, bronze, brass, leather, iron, stone, nickel, rattan, copper, ceramic and porcelain. So many of our lamps are made by artisans who form every element individually by hand, including bases, mountings and shades. To crown many of these striking lamps, you’ll find an enchanting variety of hand-sewn fabric shades of the highest quality. Our craftsmen wrap custom-welded wire frames with fine muslin ribbon, to which the luxurious outer fabric and an inner lining are stitched. Then elegant flourishes like those made by the finest dressmakers are added to the shades, such as hand-sewn pleating, smocking and embroidery. As a final touch, our lampshade makers add decorative trimmings to the top and bottom of the shade, including folds and other custom details. For a pearly, luminous effect, our craftsmen also fashion shades out of eggshell or translucent penshells.   |
