Introducing Kensington Place

The face of traditional design is changing.  Today’s approach takes the elegant simplicity of clean line and then steps back to study the composition of the entire room, balancing the interplay of color, fabric texture and decorative accents.  New traditional design is defined by comfortable inviting spaces that evoke a sense of ease and refinement.  The look is less exuberant, less complicated, less overwhelming.  It speaks to the attitude of a generation looking to make a very personal statement of style.

Designs in Kensington Place are on-trend and relevant, yet retain classic traditional elements like graceful saber legs, scalloped corners, elegant tailoring and antique mirrored accents.  The rich Brentwood finish on Ribbon Stripe Mahogany imparts a distinctive look to the collection, while pieces in burnished brass add a sparkle to the room.  Plush upholstery seating pulls the look together with a soft palette of colors and remarkable frame designs that offer a fresh new interpretation of traditional style.

Fabric Upholstered Bed

The soft hand of linen texture on the upholstered Chadwick bed affirms the casual and comfortable approach of new traditional style.  Soft scalloped corners, highlighted with nailhead trim, are echoed on the Trevor nightstands for a graceful elegant look.

Bennington Panel Bed
The flared cap rails on the headboard and footboard of the Bennington bed are trimmed at the ends with decorative hardware finished in burnished brass.  The bed is also available as a headboard only.

Beverly Glen Table and Carson Dining Chairs

The Beverly Glen table and Carson dining chairs are a study in the beautiful, flowing lines of non-linear design.  Your eye is drawn to the graceful curve of saber legs and the gentle arc of concave chair backs.  A remarkable 16-piece radial matched pattern of Ribbon Stripe Mahogany highlights the top of the 58″ diameter table, which blurs the line between form and function.

Wellshire buffet

The Wellshire buffet is one of those statement pieces that will steal the show in any room.  Scalloped fretwork over antique mirrored glass adds a touch of glamor to the door panels, reflecting light, texture and color back into the room. The tiered deck provides storage beneath and a mirrored serving surface on top.  There are adjustable shelves behind each of the doors and two felt-lined drawers behind the center door.

Living Room – The fresh look of new traditional design is found in the juxtaposition of light and dark, along with interplay of shape, color, texture and decorative accents.   The style is comfortable and inviting yet elegant and refined.

The waxy light chestnut leather on the 87 inch Ashton sofa offers superb comfort in a 3-cushion configuration. This sofa is available in leather or your choice of fabrics.  For rooms where space is an issue, the Ashton is also available in a 79 inch demi length.

New traditional design also calls for infusing a bit of drama into the decor. Mirrored surfaces are a designer’s touch, reflecting light back into the room along with the color, texture, and shapes of the items being reflected.  The Winslow hall chest makes such a statement, with antique mirror accents and elegant pendant hardware.  The Del Mar mirror makes a beautiful pairing with the chest, offering an array of antique mirror panels around the perimeter.
