To create the perfect bedroom,\u00a0designers often suggest starting with the furnishings and then choosing your colors, fabrics and accessories. In other words,\u00a0begin\u00a0with your largest and most expensive items and work your way into the room. As the biggest\u00a0elements in a room, your furniture often becomes the star. And no matter how lovely a shade of paint or comforter you choose\u2014you can\u2019t out-accessorize an unattractive bed.<\/p>\n

Yet starting with this bed, it\u2019s hard to go wrong.\u00a0 Personally, I like a neutral wall color (think taupe, tan, greige\u00a0or pale blue) and deeper or brighter colors\u00a0for my\u00a0bedding and window treatments.\u00a0 That way I can change the\u00a0soft goods\u00a0out when I get tired of them and not have to change my wall color.<\/p>\n
